Gallowgate
In the video below, we see Routemaster bus JJD 549D (RML 2549) driving along the High Street in Glasgow proceeding towards Gallowgate.
Manufactured in 1966, it began its days transporting London passengers particularly those in Hackney and Aldenham. The bus was decommissioned by London Transport in 2005 with its final day of normal service on the 21st October 2005. Its final route designation was the number 13 between Golders Green and Aldwych.
Red Bus Bistro Company
The bus was purchased in 2014 by the ‘Red Bus Bistro Company’. Following a full conversion JJD 549D found a new lease of life as a mobile dining venue gracing the streets of Glasgow.
